There are public and private keys to assure of privacy, plus an authentication practice that is vital to make the system work.

VeriSign's public keys are used for the encryption information while the private keys are used to decipher it. Once a web browser points to a secured domain, the SSL will make sure that the server otherwise known as the website and the web browser or the client is authenticated.

The SSL certificate is like being your virtual passport or a driver's license. The Certificate Authority (CA) will act as the extended validation of VeriSign in which once a browser clicks on a certain secure domain, the information submitted will be matched and if this does not fit, the browser will display an error message or a warning.

(Caroline Blair, a native from Boston, has effectively lectured on the “Importance of Secure Payment Gateways to today's web wondering Entrepreneur”and has deemed a significant amount of praise for her contribution to Cambridge Business Students by raising the bar in terms of Risk Management Modules and e Commerce importance)
